Are You Ready to Feel Better?

We will start by finding out about you and what exactly you would like to achieve with your sessions. Developing a good rapport and trust for both client and therapist is essential to the success of any therapy. I will explain to you how hypnotherapy works, and the type of treatment or programme that might suit your individual needs. Some clients prefer simply to talk, others prefer me to provide tasks and tools to help them achieve their goals.

The first session would usually include some hypnotherapy. But sometimes it is taken up entirely in understanding the problem and getting a medical history (if the problem has a complex history). However, this enables you to get to know the hypnotherapist and feel more confident with them.

When the treatment begins, I will ask you to sit in a comfortable position, on the sofa or arm-chair. You may well be there for a period of time so you must make an effort to become as comfortable as possible.

I normally use several different approaches to assist you to relax, both in mind and body. Normally, you will close your eyes and I will use an induction and deepener to help clear your mind of any stressful thoughts or ‘mind clutter’. When this is done a hypnotherapeutic intervention can occur.

At the end of the hypnotherapy session, I will take some time to allow you to regain full conscious awareness. This usually only takes a matter of seconds, but you can take all the time you need. Most sessions last around an hour but its not uncommon for some clients to achieve their goals much quicker. Equally, in some cases multiple sessions are required.

It is possible for you to feel relaxed enough to sleep during the hypnotherapy part of the session. This is quite a common occurrence for a practising hypnotherapist. In any event I will take the appropriate actions to wake you and decide either to carry on, or cease the hypnotherapy session if required.

Whether you have one or several hypnotherapy sessions, I will normally give you some tools and techniques to enhance the strength of any work that has been done in the session.

At the end of your hypnotherapy treatment, you will generally feel enabled, positive and very relaxed

My Approach

The hardest part about change is not making the same choices as the day before. Change can only come from the unknown and for most people the unknown is an uncomfortable place. However, I believe that true change is within your reach. Our subconscious minds hold immense power, but they're also held back by the beliefs we've built up over time. My goal as a hypnotherapist is to help you recognise these patterns and give you the tools you need to make effective changes.

Unlike the stage hypnosis you might be familiar with, clinical hypnosis is all about relaxation and focus. By creating a deep state of physical relaxation, we can increase your focus and concentration, making it easier to break free from old patterns and make positive changes. You'll remain in full control during these sessions, and won't be hypnotised against your will.

Hypnotherapy is a completely natural and safe process, with only rare cases of temporary dizziness or drowsiness. Although everyone differs in their ability to achieve a trance-like state, I believe that hypnosis is achievable for anyone with a sound mind and the ability to follow basic instructions. Mental fitness is no different than physical fitness; some people achieve their goals quickly, while others need more patience and commitment.

If hypnosis hasn't worked for you in the past, don't lose hope. Scepticism, confusion, or a lack of trust in your therapist can all be barriers to success. That's why it's so important to find the right therapist for you. With my unique approach, dedicated support, and unwavering commitment to your success, I'm here to help you achieve your goals and transform your life.
